AM23/001 - WELCOME

K Sandick welcomed P Walters (the new ward councillor) and other Councillors to the meeting. Apologies for absence were accepted from B Crossen (Holiday), P Dunn (Prior engagement).

AM23/002 - MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING

Confirmation that the Minutes of the last Annual Meeting held 3 May 2022 were agreed as a correct record at the subsequent meeting held 7 June 2022.
 

AM23/003 - CHAIR’S REPORT

Councillor K Sandick (Chair) thanked the members for all the support he had received in his first year as Chair and then verbally reported on events in the parish throughout the year. The two events organised by the parish (remembrance and carol services) had gone extremely well. Work to the Square was almost complete however he felt that there was work to be done in “reaching out” and cited the Coronation party organised by the Reading Rooms as an example. Although the organisation for this was excellent, the turnout was disappointing. The clerk was instructed to minute recognition of this. A suggestion of larger notice boards to advertise events was noted.

AM23/004 – QUESTIONS FROM THE FLOOR

AM23/005 – ELECTION OF CHAIR

K Sandick was proposed by E Miller, seconded by G Crute and elected as Chair for 2023/24.

AM23/06 – ELECTION OF VICE CHAIR

G Crute was proposed by K Sandick, seconded by J Weighell and elected as Vice Chair for 2023/24.

AM23/007 – ELECTION OF OVERSEERS TO SUPPORT THE CHAIR FOR 2022/23

1. J Weighell was proposed by K Sandick, seconded by J Grainger and elected as Asset Management Overseer.
2. J Grainger was proposed by K Sandick, seconded by J Weighell and elected as Business Management Overseer.
3. M Hannaford was proposed by G Crute, seconded by E Miller and elected as Risk Management Overseer.

AM23/008 – DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The date of the next Annual Meeting was provisionally set at Tuesday 7 May 2024. The meeting concluded at 6.40pm.
